LA Marathon Training – Week #6

First week with my brand new Brooks Adrenaline GTS 13s. They made a huge difference! Shin splints aren’t as bad and sore calves are non-existent. Pretty rainy week, but still stuck to my schedule. Cytomax helped to give me that boost when I needed a little bit of caffeine.

Tuesday – 3 Miles
Weather: degrees
Actual Miles: 3.10
Pace: 8:46
Time: 27:01
Notes: First run in my Brooks Adrenaline GTS 13s. The new shoes felt WAAAAY better! From the first step I could feel a lot more cushion. Still have some shin splits and soreness, but sure they will go away soon.

Wednesday – 5 Miles
Weather: 45 degrees, rain
Actual Miles: 5.05
Pace: 8:57
Time: 45:12
Notes: Almost didn’t run this day, due to the heavy rain. After some encouragement from twitter friends gave me that push to go out in the rain and run! Really rainy out, not the typical rain I’m use to. Socks were soaked from running through so many puddles. Really, really wet afterward!

Thursday – 3 Miles
Weather: 43 degrees
Actual Miles: 3.35
Pace: 8:42
Time: 29:03
Notes: Legs were a little tired, but not as bad as previous weeks. Legs do feel a lot better in my new Adrenalines. It didn’t rain, but the were puddles everywhere. More soaked socks!

Saturday – 7 Miles
Weather: 45 degrees
Actual Miles: 8:05
Pace: 8:49
Time: 1:01:49
Notes: I really wasn’t mentally prepared for this run and wasn’t feeling the run until about mile 5. Then I started to enjoy myself. Ended up running 8 instead of 7 miles.

Total Week #6 Miles: 19.55 miles
Total LA Marathon Training Miles: 100.56 miles
