The good people at CMY5K have given me a pair of entries to give away to their fun 5K in Seattle!
What exactly is CMY5K?
If you’ve done a traditional 5K, you know they can be a bit bland. But CMY5K is the running equivalent of Dorothy’s house landing on the Wicked Witch. Waves of virginal white runners and walkers will start every 3-5 minutes. Then, at each kilometer, CMY5K staff and volunteers will powder participants in Color Splash Zones. Each zone dispenses a different color; 1K-cyan, 2K-magenta, 3K-yellow, 4K-green, 5K-a combination of all colors. So what if you should accidentally “taste the rainbow?” Not to worry. The powder is 100% natural and safe.
When and where is CMY5K in Seattle?
On Sunday, August 12 2012 at Magnuson Park at 9AM.

You don’t have to! It’s completely safe.
This is from CMY5K’s website:
“CAN THE COLOR AFFECT MY BREATHING? HOW ABOUT MY SIGHT?
The color powder is completely natural and safe. Essentially, it’s colored food-grade cornstarch. So even if you get a bit in your eyes or nose, it won’t cause any problems. But the likelihood of that happening is low. CMY5K volunteers are trained to not throw directly at your beautiful faces. We even provide a “light” lane for those who prefer minimal color exposure while moving through the course.”

I would love to win this! This will be my first 5k. I’ve been trying out the Couch to 5k program with a friend, and we are so excited for our first 5k in August!!!
